OVERSIZED ITEM

This coffee table, designed by Yngve Ekström for Westbergs Möbler, features a rectangular top supported by a sculptural leg structure.

The tabletop is constructed from teak, with visible grain running across the surface. The top has a flat plane with a slightly raised edge along the perimeter, forming a shallow lip. The edges are subtly rounded at the corners and transitions.

The base is constructed from oak, creating a contrast between the top and supporting structure. The legs are angled outward from the underside of the top and are connected through intersecting joinery. Each leg meets at a central junction beneath the table, forming a continuous structural system rather than four independent supports.

The leg assembly includes horizontal and diagonal elements that intersect and join together, with the connections left visible. The components are rectangular in section, with clean edges and tight joinery throughout.

The tabletop sits directly on this base without an apron, leaving the underside open and exposing the full leg structure.

All surfaces are smoothly finished, with softened edges at transitions. The form is defined by the contrast between the teak top and oak base, along with the exposed joinery and angular arrangement of the legs.
