This armchair, designed by Finn Juhl as Model 133, features a teak frame with a sculpted profile and upholstered seat and back cushions.
The frame is constructed from teak, with visible grain throughout. The legs are round in section and slightly tapered, connected by horizontal stretchers that form a continuous structural base. The rear legs extend upward to support the backrest, creating a unified frame.
The armrests are carved from teak and curve outward before tapering toward the front. Each arm terminates in a widened, flattened end, forming the characteristic “spade” shape. The arms are mounted to the frame with exposed connections, sitting slightly separated from the upholstered elements.
The seat and backrest consist of removable cushions upholstered in wool fabric. The seat cushion is rectangular and rests within the frame, while the back cushion is suspended between the rear uprights. The cushions are supported by an internal system of springs or webbing integrated into the frame.
The backrest is angled slightly rearward, with the cushion positioned between the vertical supports. The open space between the frame elements remains visible from all sides.
