OVERSIZED ITEM

An adjustable lounge chair by Danish cabinetmaker and designer Jacob Kjær, constructed with a sculpted wood frame and black leather upholstery. 

The chair features a wide upholstered seat and tall, slightly curved backrest set within an exposed frame. The front legs extend directly into the arm supports, while the shaped armrests curve inward toward the back. Curved front and rear seat rails and angled side supports form the lower structure, with rounded edges and tapered legs throughout.

A notable feature is the adjustable backrest. As shown in the detail photographs, brass fittings mounted along the inside of the frame provide several positions for changing the angle of the back. The backrest can be moved forward for a more upright seating position or set farther back for a more reclined position. The removable upholstery allows the frame and adjustment hardware to remain accessible.

The black leather upholstery covers both the seat and back with piped edges, contrasting with the warm tone and visible grain of the wood frame. The open sides and exposed rear construction make the chair suitable for placement away from a wall, where the frame and curved rear rails remain visible.
