Designed by Peter Hvidt and Orla Mølgaard-Nielsen, the Model 317 chair features a solid wood frame with gently tapered legs, connected by round stretchers. The backrest is formed from a curved, crescent-shaped wooden panel with carefully thinned edges, giving it an organic, floating appearance. Slender vertical supports connect the backrest to the seat.
Gracefully shaped wooden armrests extend forward in a subtle arc, integrating seamlessly into the frame. The seat is hand-woven in natural cord, laid in a tight, geometric pattern that introduces texture and contrast against the warm-toned wood. Its slightly recessed form sits neatly within the frame.
Its understated presence and finely resolved details make it equally compelling as dining seating or as a refined accent chair in a thoughtfully curated interior.
