This oval dining table, designed by Florence Knoll, features a flat oval top supported by a four-leg steel base.
The tabletop is constructed from teak wood, with visible grain patterning across the surface. It has a uniform thickness and a continuous edge profile, with the wood extending fully to the perimeter. The top sits directly on the base without an apron, maintaining a clean underside.
The base consists of four straight steel legs with a rectangular cross-section. The legs are positioned near the corners of the oval top and are set slightly inward from the edge. Each leg connects to the underside through a welded steel support structure, forming a rigid frame beneath the tabletop. The steel is finished in a polished or brushed metal surface, contrasting with the teak top.
The underside remains open, with the support structure visible between the legs. Each leg terminates with a floor glide at the base.
The proportions are elongated, with the oval top extending beyond the footprint of the base. The table maintains standard dining height and consistent spacing between the legs for seating.
