OVERSIZED ITEM

This teak chest of drawers by Børge Mogensen is constructed with a rectilinear case fitted with four wide, evenly spaced drawers. The drawer fronts are made from flat teak panels with a continuous horizontal grain that runs across the width of the cabinet. Each drawer is fitted with a solid teak pull that is shaped as a small rectangular block projecting slightly from the surface, with a long oval cut-out underneath that functions as the grip.

The outer edges of the cabinet are finished with clean mitered corners, creating a crisp transition between the top and the sides. The top surface is a solid, flat panel with a subtly eased edge. The drawers sit flush within the frame, maintaining consistent spacing between each drawer front.

The cabinet is raised on four round, tapered legs set slightly in from the corners. These legs connect to a shaped lower apron that curves gently downward before meeting the vertical supports, forming a smooth transition between the case and the legs. The visible joinery and shaping of the components emphasize the solid teak construction and the precise fit of the individual elements.
